Part of the weekly schedule at Melusi is an early morning prayer meeting each Thursday, held in the chapel (50 metres from my door). This last week, however, we drove up one of the local hills to meditate and pray overlooking the town as the sun rose. (So we were up at 5 and set off by 5.30!) There was a mist covering much of the ground, with the hills pushing their way through.
Being responsible for the worship I didn’t bother taking my camera, but I was so glad that some of the others did. I stood watching the sun rise, strumming quietly as Pastor Peter read scriptures. The only cloud in the sky was directly above where the sun appeared, giving the spectacular views you can see. I was struck by the contrast between the amazing beauty of God’s creation and the squalor I witnessed the previous afternoon in a local township.
